‘Willow Shopper’ is worked bottom-up, starting from a leather bag base. Stitches are cast on using double strands, worked directly through the pre-punched holes in the leather base and around the circular needle.
The body of the bag is knitted in a dense two-color woven stitch, creating structure, durability, and a vibrant textured surface. The bag is finished with a stockinette stitch top.
Finally, the leather straps are woven through the dense fabric and attached to the base. Please read the entire pattern before starting.

Height: 12 in (30 cm)
Width: 16.5 in (42 cm) (measured at the widest point)

Gauge:

11 sts x 22 rows in woven stitch on US 11 (8 mm) needles = 4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm)
Worked with two strands held together

Needles:
US 11 (8 mm) circular needle / 40 in (100 cm) for cast-on and woven stitch body
US 6 (4 mm) circular needle / 32 in (80 cm) for the stockinette top

Yarn Suggestion:

Base color / Color A: 300 g Natur Uld, 100 g = 110 yd (100 m) from Hjertegarn
Contrast color / Color B: 200 g Natur Uld, 100 g = 110 yd (100 m) from Hjertegarn
The woven stitch body is worked with two strands held together.
Please note that some sections of the pattern are worked with single strands, not double strands.
