The woman behind Striksakken is Kir Qvortrup, who lives in Copenhagen, Denmark with her husband and three daughters.
She is a modern dancer by education, and has worked in the Danish performing arts industry up through the 10s. But has since childhood found energy in creating things with her hands. In 2020 she pursued a long-standing dream of working with leather and knitwear under her alter ego Striksakken.

Since her first daughter saw the light of day in 2012, she has been pre-occupied with the concept of “hacks”. Anything that could make life with a baby a little easier and a lot more fun. It was also in connection with her first maternity leave that the childhood passion for knitting was resumed.
