‘Sashi Vest Junior’ is worked top-down in garter stitch. It is knitted in two different yarn qualities which together creates a flattering contrast in texture and provides a comfortable fit. The upper part is worked in three strands of dense, brushed wool. This section forms the yoke and has a firm, warm structure due to the tight gauge. Here, slightly deep armholes are shaped, offering extra freedom of movement and a relaxed look that can be worn over blouses, shirts, or dresses. The brushed wool has very little stretch after washing or wear, helping the yoke maintain its shape and structure over time.
The lower part is worked in six strands of soft alpaca, which gives the fabric a lighter drape and a more fluid feel. This yarn has more give when washed and worn, causing the back section to become noticeably longer than the front.
‘Sashi Vest Junior’ combines classic techniques such as provisional cast-on, short rows, and i-cord edging with a simple construction and a distinct material contrast. It is worked in one piece with no seaming and can easily be adjusted in length as desired.
