Sizes: Small: Head circumference approx. 19.5–21.25 in / 50–54 cm (Medium): Head circumference approx. 21.25–22.75 in / 54–58 cm) Large: Head circumference approx. 22.75–24.5 in / 58–62 cm.
Gauge: 16 stitches / 21 rows = 4 x 4 inches / 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch on ndl size US10 / 6mm.
Recommended Needles: Circular needle US10 / 6mm, 24 or 32 in / 60 or 80 cm or double-pointed needles US10 / 6mm. Circular needle US9 / 5.5mm, 24 or 32 inches / 60 or 80 cm) OR double-pointed needles in the same size, Circular needle US9 / 5.5mm), 24 or 32 in / 60 or 80 cm (Helper Needle), Circular needle US2.5 / 3mm, 24in / 60cm, Optional double pointed needles US2.5 / 3mm) for the I-cords.

Yarn: 80 g (all sizes) of Highland Fine Wool (1.41 oz / 197 yds per 1.41 oz skein) held together with 50 g (all sizes) of Silk Kid Mohair (0.88 oz / 230 yds per 0.88 oz skein) from Hjertegarn. Yarn consumption includes the pompom (for the smallest size, 0.88 oz / 230 yds of mohair is sufficient if the pompom is omitted).

The ‘Snap / Tie Pilot Hat’ is a practical and warm hat that closes under the chin with either leather snaps or I-cord ties. The hat consists of four sections: headband, neck flap, crown, and forehead fold. All sections are double-layered, making the hat reversible until the forehead fold is sewn up. By folding the neck flap and the back of the headband section up, the hat can be transformed into a beanie-style hat.
